This is a really cool idea. I like how the finished result kind of mimics the look of large format portraits taken with an 8x10 camera with their very narrow depth of field.
For awhile I've wanted to do something like this with a dSLR and a 300mm lens, stitching together an 8x10 grid of 80 shots. After all, 300mm is a normal lens for that format.
