Football

Just finished this one. I think the next one I do will involve more sorting. Maybe everyone will be wearing red shirts or something.

This is a detail of the background. I spend a lot of time trying to show each person at least three times. This will be so small in the finished print (17" x 22" or 24" x 36"), but I want everything to be happening everywhere, all the time.

Pixels?

These are 3 Ad Reihnhardt paintings, not a the work of metaphotographer examining color, say, as in these Chris Fortesque images at i heart photograph or the pixl porn project by Stuart Allen, also on i heart photograph. What does it all mean? I don't know, but it's pretty funny.

Boston Public Garden near dusk

This is my second outdoor composite picture. They take a long time to do. It takes a couple of hours to take the picture itself, or rather pictures, because this one is made up of about 40 exposures (Across the Street took about 120). The photoshopping took about 7 hours and the other picture took a week and god knows how many hours.

I'm excited because I'm able to deal with the key photographic element of time in a relatively unusual way--a way that is truthful to the experience of standing in the Boston Public Garden for an hour, and a way that is more truthful than a single still photograph. It also replicates attention. If you're thinking about snapshots, for instance, you only notice tourists taking pictures.
